New Canaan EMS (NCEMS) provides 911 emergency medical care with transport to Norwalk or Stamford Hospitals, at no charge.
History in New Canaan

Formed in 1975, we will celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2025! NCEMS is one of a handful of emergency medical services in Connecticut 100% staffed by volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) providing EMS services free-of-charge.

Our dedicated volunteer EMTs and paramedics are proud members of our community, hailing from our town and the neighboring areas. Their commitment to serving and protecting our residents is a testament to their deep-rooted connection to the community. With each call they respond to, they bring not only their skills and training but also a genuine care for the people they serve.

We Never Close

Our volunteer emergency medical services are dedicated to providing round-the-clock support to our community. With a team of trained volunteers available 24 hours a day, we ensure help is always just a call away. Whether it's a medical emergency or urgent care need, our commitment to serving the community never wavers.

NCEMS responds to approximately 1600 calls each year We handle a diverse array of emergencies, ensuring that help is always just a call away.
